QUEZON CITY--Alaska finally notched a win under new head coach Jeffrey Cariaso, edging Rain Or Shine, 78-71, on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Turning to their defense, the Aces shut down the Elasto Painters late in the first quarter, countering their 8-0 run with a 12-3 rally to end the quarter ahead, 18-11.

Alaska continued to take control of the ballgame and even opened a 12-point cushion, 60-48, late in the third period.

ROS mounted a 15-4 blast that spilled to the early goings of the fourth quarter to trim the gap to just one, 64-63, with 7:14 to play.

The Aces, however, did not waver from there and held off the E-Painters.

Franko House made 22 points, 23 rebounds, three assists, and one block for Alaska, which tied its victim at 1-5.

In his return from injury, Jeron Teng added 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and one block.

Kayel Locke tallied 25 markers, 10 boards, two dimes, one steal, and three blocks for ROS, which fell to its fourth straight loss.
