MANILA--Although it's a non-bearing game for both teams, defending UAAP men's basketball champions Ateneo Blue Eagles went to work quickly and dealt the NU Bulldogs 11th loss of the season via an 88-51 rout at the Ynares Center in Antipolo on Saturday.
The win put the Blue Eagles a win away from completing an elimination round sweep.
Ange Kouame and Thirdy Ravena teamed up for a combined total of 32 points for the Katipunan based squad.
Shaun Ildefonso was the lone bright spot for the Bulldogs as he scored 21 points coupled with 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and a steal.
Meanwhile, his brother Dave Ildefonso was held to his career-low of 2 points.
Ateneo will wrap up their elimination round and keep its perfect record against the peaking UP Fighting Maroons on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Meanwhile, the NU Bulldogs look to end their forgettable season on a high note against the UE Red Warriors also on Wednesday.
