PASAY CITY - The Ateneo Blue Eagles once again proved how strong they are as they finished the elimination round of UAAP Season 82 with a 14-0 sweep by beating the UP Fighting Maroons, 86-64, Wednesday evening at the Mall of Asia Arena.
With the Blue Eagles win, they punched their third straight finals appearance while the Fighting Maroons failed to stop the sweep and fell down to 9-5.
Ange Kouame led the Blue Eagles sweep with his season-high 20 points on 10/16 field goals, 12 rebounds, and 5 blocks.
SJ Belangel also got his career-high with 14 points.
Will Navarro and Thirdy Ravena chipped in 13 and 11 points for Ateneo in the win.
Kobe Paras led the Fighting Maroons with 13 points.
Together with Bright Akhuetie, Juan and Javi Gomez de Liano chipped in 11 points each, but they still failed to improve UP's winning streak and break Ateneo's reign.
