PASAY CITY - The Meralco Bolts lashed out the Alaska Aces with a massive 26-point game decider; 101-75 at the Mall of Asia Arena, Friday night.

Baser Amer's three-point shooting gave the Bolts a huge favour all throughout the ball game, finishing off with 27 points.

Alaska only had the chance to lead the game during the first quarter, as they closed it out at 22-20.

Meralco took full control of the game beginning in the second period with Reynel Hugnatan opening the scoring for the Bolts in the quarter.

Amer and Chris Newsome each shared shots from the outside to push the Bolts to lead the ballgame by 7 points, 40-33.

Allen Durham closed the quarter by scoring a triple as they entered halftime ahead, 43-37.

Amer continued his three-point shooting in the second half to pave the way for the Bolts to sail away from the Aces.

"This is a big weekend for us as we also play Phoenix on Sunday. We consider this as a good bounce back win after losing to NLEX," said Coach Norman Black.

Black commended the efforts of Amer and Durham in leading the Bolts to victory but also took note of Almazan's efforts.

"Almazan played solid basketball for us tonight. He didn't do much against NLEX but he makes up for it tonight," Black mentioned.

The win gives them additional motivation to play good against the Fuel Masters on Sunday but Black added that they do not want to be too confident as Phoenix is also a force to be reckoned with.

"We expect a tough and physical game against them on Sunday," Black added.
