BIÑAN—Green Archers United came out to spoil Stallion Laguna's night party on Wednesday as the former stole a 1-0 road win in the PFL's first evening match at the Biñan Football Stadium.
Tonaldo Appiah scored the breakthrough goal for GAU in the 44th minute off a bad Stallion Laguna pass at the midfield as the former kept its chances of stealing third place alive.
GAU moved up to 32 points, just within four of Stallion Laguna, which remained at 36, for third place.
Add to that, GAU has a match at hand, giving the club some more flicker of hope especially that Stallion Laguna will travel to the Aboitiz Pitch in Lipa on Saturday night to face Kaya Iloilo, 5-1 winner over Mendiola earlier Wednesday at the said venue.
However, GAU still has an acid test ahead as it will return home at the Aboitiz Pitch to face Ceres Negros also on Saturday night.
