MANILA--The De La Salle Green Archers wasted no time in redeeming themselves after a sorry 71-68 loss to the UP Fighting Maroons that knocked them out of playoff contention in the UAAP men's basketball tournament as they closed out their season with an 89-63 victory over the Adamson Soaring Falcons on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

Starting the game hot with a 13-0 blitz, the Archers did not slow down as their score reached almost double of Adamson's, 50-29.

The Taft-based squad led as much by 30 points to keep just enough separation from the Soaring Falcons throughout the game.

The Archers, who will miss the Final Four for the second year in a row, ended their campaign with a 7-7 win-loss record.

On the other hand, Adamson finished with a 4-10 record, their worst under the reign of Coach Franz Pumaren.

One-and-done player Jamie Orme-Malonzo ended his UAAP career with a season high of 34 points off 7 triples, 12 rebounds, and 1 rejection to earn player of the game honors.

Former UAAP Rookie of the Year and graduating team captain Andrei Caracut posted 14 points, 3 boards, and 6 dimes as he ended his collegiate career with a win.

One-and-done Soaring Falcon Val Chuaca was limited to just 4 points.

Aside from Caracut and Malonzo, James Laput-Pado and Keyshawn Meeker, both one-and-done players, played out their final game of their college careers also in a De La Salle uniform.

Kristian Bernardo, Egi Mojica, and team captain Simon Camacho have all exhausted their playing years for Adamson as well.
