MANILA—For the second time this season, the MPBL had to deal with the slippery flooring of the Navotas Sports Complex.
And for the second straight time, the league gave in.
The MPBL once again postponed its scheduled games at the said venue on Monday due to the said hardwood problem.
Just like what happened on June 25 during Navotas' home game against Rizal, Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes announced the postponement in-game.
Batangas City and Cebu were playing in the first game of the scheduled triple-header at the Navotas Sports Complex with both teams tied, 22-all, with 7:32 left in the second quarter.
But due to the heavy rains outside the arena, the flooring became moist and slippery again that Duremdes ordered the stoppage of play to check the situation, eventually leading to the postponement.
In effect, the other two games in the fixtures, the Zamboanga-Manila match and Navotas' home game against Makati, were also called off.
All the three games will be rescheduled to a later date.
