MANILA--Pasig Chooks bounced back in Leg 6 of the Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas 3x3 MelMac Cup and claimed the title through a statement 22-12 win against MSC Biñan City–Azi&Tets Travel N Tours in the final on Sunday at the Gold's Gym Sheridan Basketball Court in Mandaluyong.

Pasig, which was denied of the Leg 5 championship by Big Boss Cement Porac the day before, made it rain from long range to break away from Binan City, which lost Dan Reducto midway through the match with an ankle sprain.

"I just wanted to come back today and refocus. Yesterday was in the past, and move forward. That's what we could really do," said Joshua Munzon, who connived with Franky Johnson for eight two-pointers en route to another PHP100,000 cash prize for Pasig, hiking its total to PHP530,000.

Binan City walked home with PHP30,000 runner-up pay, but Reducto is now doubtful for Leg 7 on Monday back at the said venue.

Muntinlupa, which finally made the semifinals, finished third overall and won PHP20,000.

In the women's final, Ever Bilena pipped Careline, 21-14, for its fifth leg title as well.

Afril Bernardino unleashed 10 points for her squad, Tina Deacon contributed seven markers, and Ria Nabalan posted four for Ever Bilena, which also won PHP20,000 for winning it all yet again.

"Masaya [kami sa panalo]. Tulong na rin 'to for the upcoming SEA Games," Bernardino said. "Nakakapag-communicate kami nang mabuti sa bawat isa."

Gemma Miranda, who had to face her fellow former NU Lady Bulldogs in the final, chalked up eight points to lead Careline.

In the slam dunk contest, Darwin Cantong edged Michael Alvarez to win PHP10,000.
