MANILA—Blackwater swung another trade in just a one-week span that was only approved by the PBA Trade Committee on Friday after a revision.

The league's group overseeing the swaps approved the deal sending Mike Tolomia and KG Canaleta to the Ever Bilena franchise from Meralco, which in the process acquired Allein Maliksi and Toto Jose.

However, the said trade was approved only after the Bolts added a 2022 second round pick to the package.

In the initial deal which was agreed upon on Thursday, Meralco will only send Tolomia, Canaleta, and a 2020 second rounder to Blackwater for Maliksi and Jose.

However, the trade committee used its power of veto in the initial trade package, prompting the Bolts to sweeten the pot by giving up their 2022 pick as well.

With Mike Digregorio traded to TNT last week for Brian Heruela, Tolomia is expected to become Blackwater's new gunner especially that his minutes dipped with Meralco.

Canaleta, on the other hand, makes his return to the Elite after playing for them in 2017.

Tolomia and Canaleta could make their debut on Saturday night, when they take on the Alaska Aces at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Meanwhile, Jose is expected to bolster the Bolts's frontline, while Maliksi will backstop Chris Newsome at the wings.

However, they may need to be cautious about Maliksi's health as he injured his ankle in the Elite's last game against the Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters on Wednesday night.

Meralco will face San Miguel on Sunday night also at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
