Strong Q3 lifts Columbian over NorthPort

BINAN--Columbian sizzled in the third quarter and held off NorthPort, 114-108, in the PBA Governors' Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday night.

The final regular season game between top Rookie of the Year contenders CJ Perez and Robert Bolick lived up the hype as both rising stars put up impressive double-doubles.

However, Perez's Dyip got the last laugh over Bolick's Batang Pier as the former dropped 38 points in the third quarter to counter the latter's solid start before holding on in the end.

Perez finished with 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting, 11 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block for Columbian, which jumped to fourth place at 2-1.

Khapri Alston added 25 points, 17 rebounds, one assist, and two blocks.

Bolick put up 23 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds, and one steal for NorthPort, which fell to 1-2.

Mo Tautuaa added 22 markers, 14 boards, three dimes, one block, and one steal, while Mychal Ammons added 15 points, 11 caroms, three assists, two steals, and two blocks.
