Suerte, UE end UAAP Season 82 campaign with W over NU

MANILA—The UE Red Warriors closed out their UAAP Season 82 men's basketball campaign on a high note after escaping the cellar dwelling NU Bulldogs with a 79-77 win.

Rey Suerte top scored for UE one last time with 28 points including the go-ahead basket to break a 74-all tie and scattered 6 rebounds, 3 dimes, and 3 steals.

JV Gallego and Dave Ildefonso combined for 40 points, dropping 20 points each, for the Blue and Gold.

UE ended its season with a 4-10 record, a better finish from last season.

NU ended their campaign with a 2-12 win-loss record, their worst in a decade.

Philip Manalang, Nick Abanto, and one-and-done Jed Mendoza and Rey Suerte bid goodbye after playing out their final collegiate game.

There will be no graduating player for NU and will still be intact for Season 83.
