MAKATI--Acer will be the official provider of the personal computers that will be used for the DOTA 2 and StarCraft 2 events of the inaugural Southeast Asian Games esports tournament from Dec. 4-10 at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City.

Sue Lim, the general manager of Acer Philippines, announced the news on Thursday during the contract signing that reaffirmed the partnership between Acer, through its Predator gaming computers, and top local DOTA 2 team TNC Predator at the Romulo Cafe here.

The new partnership will also see Predator computers to be used in the premium cafes of TNC, a prime internet cafe chain in the country.

"It's only fitting. We've had several achievements for Predator branding worldwide. We're one of the biggest gaming brands, and in the Philippines, we just achieved the number one status," Lim told Dugout Philippines after the announcement.

On the PC's that will be used for the event, Lim said, "We're using the Predator desktops there. Definitely, [they're] powered by Nvidia RTX graphic cards and Intel Core I7 processors."

Lim then said further that Acer is now looking forward to an even bigger esports tournament that the Philippines will host even if the SEA Games esports tourney has not started yet.

"[This is] also part of our journey towards our Asia Pacific Predator League, which will happen on Feb. 22-23, 2020 at the Mall of Asia Arena," she added.

Sibol, the national esports team for the SEA Games, is tagged as the heavy favorite for all the six titles that will be played in the said meet, also including mobile games Arena of Valor, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Hearthstone and console game Tekken 7.

Lim believes that Sibol will meet everyone's expectation.

"I really believe in the power of Filipinos, especially in gaming," she concluded.
