Action Republic Corporation's Rissa Guilas: “The games are becoming more competitive”

Aside from being the main sponsor of the Philippine indoor volleyball teams in the upcoming Southeast Asian Games as well as the Creamline Cool Smashers and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the Premier Volleyball League, Republic Biscuit Corporation remains committed to the development of the sport through the Rebisco Volleyball League.

No wonder the league continues to grow as the biggest tournament for girls volleyball in the country. The number of participating schools grew from about 450 in 2018 to over 600 this year, and will only continue to grow in succeeding years.

That said, Action Republic Corporation Rissa Guilas graced the Opening Ceremonies of the RVL 2019 National Finals at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig and delivered this welcoming remark:

“Good afternoon, everyone. On behalf of the Rebisco family, we would like to welcome all of you to the Rebisco Volleyball League National Finals. I know it’s a weekend, so thank you for spending your afternoon with us. This is our third year for the RVL and each year becomes even more exciting. We have more participants joining us, the players are getting better, which means the games are becoming even more competitive.

So, after nine months of the pre-qualifying round and the regionals, we have reached the most exciting leg which is the National Finals. We have a lot to thank for this. First of all, thank you for all the schools participating in this event. Thank you for giving your students the opportunity to play the sport that they love and to earn new friends. To our international teams, thank you so much for being a part of this league, and we hope that you can join us in the future conferences of the RVL.

To all the coaches, thank you very much for your untiring dedication and your utter guidance in training. To all the parents who are here, thank you also for being present, and for giving your children the opportunity to play volleyball which they very much love. And lastly, thank you very much to our partners, Metro Sports and to all the regional coordinators for your commitment and dedication for making sure that this league is run effectively. With that, we wish everyone a pleasant afternoon, and to all our players, good luck in all your games. Thank you.”

The 13 participating teams of the Rebisco Volleyball League 2019 National Finals will compete until November 30. Admission to all games is free. Matches are also streamed via the Rebisco Volleyball League Facebook page.
