PASIG--Alab Pilipinas got back at Gilas Pilipinas Men in their second tuneup game with a 93-89 win on Monday night at the Meralco Gym.
Exactly a week after Gilas Men got one over Alab in a friendly, it was the latter's turn to score the win to split their two-game series.
Like the first match, it was tight until the end.
Alab was holding to an 89-83 lead with 1:29 to play in the game.
But Gilas Men slowly crawled back and were within three, 89-92, with 19.8 seconds left off a putback dunk from Japeth Aguilar.
Nick King iced the game with a split from the line.
Both teams were using the tuneup as part of their preparations for their upcoming campaigns.
Alab will begin their ABL quest next week, while Gilas Men continue their grind for the SEA Games.
