MANILA—Meralco claimed solo third place in the PBA Governors' Cup after zapping Ginebra, 101-77, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday night.
The Bolts went off to a blistering start, quickly opening a double-digit lead and holding the Barangay to just 15 first quarter points.
Meralco's outburst continued in the second quarter with a 27-17 scoreline to up its lead to 21 and never looked back, even stretching its lead to 28 before settling for the 24-point win.
Allen Durham put up 39 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and one block for the Bolts, who formally booked a seat in the quarterfinals after moving up to 6-2.
Bong Quinto added 13 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
Justin Brownlee, who is averaging a triple-double entering Sunday night, was held to 18 points, seven rebounds, and three assists with one steal as the Barangay fell to a tie with the San Miguel for fourth place at 5-3.
