Alab Pilpinas explodes in Q4 to edge Singapore in 1st home stand

STA. ROSA, Laguna--Alab Pilipinas came alive in the final quarter to turn back Singapore, 90-83, in its first ABL game at home on Sunday night at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Sports Complex here.

Down by as much as 13 points midway through the third period, Alab exploded in the final frame, outscoring the Slingers, 40-24, to steal the home win.

Khalif Wyatt scored 20 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter including three straight triples that turned the game around for good to lead Alab, who moved up to 2-1.

New signing Sam Deguara added 12 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, two blocks, and one steal in his Alab debut.

Xavier Alexander put up 26 markers, 10 boards, seven dimes, three steals, and two blocks for Singapore, which only made its season debut on Sunday night.

Anthony McClain added 25 points, 12 rebounds, and five blocks, while Marcus Elliott came up with 11 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, and one steal.
