Ironmen Chicano, Remolino deliver 1st SEA Games '19 medals for PH

MANILA - Just as the 30th SEA Games officially commenced, John "Rambo" Chicano and Andrew Kim Remolino amassed the Philippines' first gold and silver medals in the games respectively after they finished 1-2 in men's triathlon individual final held at Subic Bay on Sunday.

Chicano finished the race of one hour, 53 minutes and 24 seconds, which set a new SEA Games record while Remolino tallied his time of 1:55:01.

Indonesian Muhammad Ahlul Firman settled as bronze medalist finished 1:57:08.

Chicano's gold medal performance was a career high for him after he placed in silver finish as Nikko Huelgas clinched gold last 2017 at Kuala Lumpur.
