MANILA—While everyone is busy with the Southeast Asian Games, Phoenix made the most out of the PBA break to retool its lineup.

On Tuesday, right at the penultimate day of the biennial meet, the Fuel Masters acquired Jake Pascual from the Alaska Aces in a trade approved by the PBA Commissioner's Office. The trade also came on the second day after the league reopened the trade market after the draft.

In exchange, Phoenix gave up one of its 2020 second round picks, specifically the one that will end up later in next year's draft.

The Fuel Masters took Pascual's services in hopes of filling the void left by recently retired players Doug Kramer and Willie Wilson. They are also waiting for the league to lift its indefinite suspension on Calvin Abueva.
