PASAY—Thirty-four years after Samboy Lim won a Southeast Asian Games gold, his daughter followed suit.
Jaime Lim continued the legacy of her father by by winning the gold medal in the women's 61-kilogram kumite category in the SEA Games karatedo event at the World Trade Center here on Monday.
Lim won the gold after beating Indonesia's Ceyco Zefanya in the final, 2-1.
Earlier in the day, she defeated Malaysia's Audrey Japyus in the quarterfinals, 7-3, and Vietnam's Bui Thi Thao, 5-1, in the semifinals.
