LOS BANOS--Malaysia scored its second straight 6-0 walloping in the Southeast Asian Games men's indoor hockey event, this time blanking Singapore on Friday at the Centtro Mall here.

One day after dealing Myanmar a 6-0 beating to open its campaign, Malaysia pulled off a similar rout over its cross-strait rival to go 2-0 in the tournament.

Najmi Jazlan opened Malaysia's account with a fourth minute goal off a penalty corner. Firdaus Omar then made it 2-0 in the 10th minute.

Amirol Arshad later scored a brace in the 12th and 16th minutes before Faridzul Mohd capped Malaysia's first half barrage with the team's fifth goal in the 17th minute.

Action slowed down a bit in the second half, but Jazlan would still contribute another penalty corner goal for Malaysia in the 23rd minute for the final tally.

In a women's action to kick off the Friday quadruple header, Thailand mauled Cambodia, 6-1.

Braces from Anongrat Piresram and Jiratchaya Todkaew set the tone for the Thais as they moved up to 2-0 as well.
