MANILA—Following a breakthrough semifinal stint in the Southeast Asian Games, the Malditas moved up in the latest FIFA rankings.

The Malditas zoomed to 67th in the world from 69th last month, a two-spot upgrade, after the newest update was released on Friday.

In the SEA Games, the Malditas drew with Myanmar and downed Malaysia in the group stages. Although they lost to Vietnam in the semifinals and against Myanmar in a rematch for the bronze, it did not stop them from promotion.

In fact, all the four semifinalists saw themselves moving up the FIFA rankings. Myanmar jumped one spot to 44th overall, Thailand, the silver medalist, is now in 38th place from 39th last month, and Vietnam, the eventual champion, leaped to 32nd overall from 34th.

USA, Germany, the Netherlands, and France kept their respective spots in the Top 4, while Sweden broke out of a tie with England to solely take the fifth spot.

Australia, which is not far behind in the world ranking at 7th overall, remains as the top women's team in Asia.
