PASAY--Add a Southeast Asian Games championship to the list of Margielyn Didal's growing accomplishments.

Didal won the gold medal in the Game of SKATE event of the SEA Games skateboarding competition after prevailing over Christiana Means in an all-Filipino final at the Sigtuna Hall of the Tagaytay International Convention Center on Thursday.

Behind a near-flawless performance, Didal, who last year won a gold in the Asian Games, outmatched Means for the SEA Games gold.

Unlike other skateboarding competitions, the Game of SKATE is played in a knockout playoff format, and Didal and Means made sure the 1-2 finish will be sealed.

Didal edged Nymias Cinta of Indonesia in one semifinal, while Means defeated another Indonesian, Kyandra Susanto, in the other semifinal game. Cinta would defeat Susanto in the consolation match for the bronze.
