MANILA—Meralco lived to fight another day in the PBA Governors' Cup semifinals after stifling TNT, 95-83, in Game 4 of the series at the Ynares Center in Antipolo on Saturday night.
The Bolts actually found themselves in danger of elimination at the get-go when the KaTropa opened the game on a 15-4 run.
Meralco slowly got back, and following a 33-point second quarter, took the lead, 51-45, at halftime. Although TNT slightly got its game back in the third period, Meralco held the team to just 15 in the final frame to pull away.
Allen Durham put up 36 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, and one steal for the Bolts, who forced a Game 5 on Monday night back at the Ynares Center. Baser Amer added 12 points, two rebounds, seven assists, and four steals.
KJ McDaniels made 26 markers, nine caroms, three dimes, one swipe, and two swats for the KaTropa, who failed in their first try to join Barangay Ginebra in the finals.
