Michael Comaling scores SEA Games gold in beach triathle

LOS BAÑOS—Michael Comaling gave the Philippines another gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games after winning the men's individual beach triathle competition of the modern pentathlon event in Subic on Friday.

Comaling finished the triathle at the time of 17 minutes and 8.87 seconds, almost 11 seconds faster than silver medalist Phurit Yohuang of Thailand, who clocked in at 17:19.83. Muhammad Taufik of Indonesia secured the bronze with the time of 17:37.86.

Comaling's partner, Dexter Ardemer, came in seventh with the time of 22:05.51, but he turned to be the last finisher as Singapore's Marcus Ong could not continue until the end.
