PASAY--Mixed martial arts star Mark Striegl scored another championship... this time in sambo.

The current URCC featherweight champion took home the gold in the Southeast Asian Games sambo tournament after beating Ashvin Jaswant Singh of Singapore in the final of the under-74-kilogram combat division at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center on Thursday night.

Striegl, who also had stints with PXC and One Championship, blanked Singh, 8-0, in the gold medal match to add the top prize to his accolades.

Striegl is not the only gold medal winner for the Philippines on Thursday night as Chino Sy deposed another Singaporean foe in the under-82-kilogram sport sambo final.

Sy took down Gary Chow, 4-1, in the gold medal match to join Striegl in the champions' row.
