MANILA—Bacoor City scored its fifth straight win in the MPBL Lakan Season after drubbing hapless Marikina, 100-88, at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay on Wednesday night.

The Strikers pulled away for good after breaking a 30-all tie with a 26-12 run to end the second quarter with a 56-42 lead and never looked back in the second half, although the Shoemasters had some moments in the said half.

"Coming off a long break, it's hard to play the same way we were playing last time. We had good stretches but Marikina was so tough and came to compete tonight," Bacoor City coach Chris Gavina said.

Michael Cañete put up 19 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks for the Strikers, who are now at 20-5, a game behind the Davao Occidental Tigers for the top spot in the Southern Division.

Michael Mabulac added 14 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal, while Gab Banal came close to a triple-double with nine points, nine rebounds, and 10 assists alongside a steal.

Yvez Sazon fired 35 points, three rebounds, two assists, and one steal for the Shoemasters who fell to a tie with the Rizal Crusaders in last place of the Northern Division at 4-19.
