Bicol rallies for crucial win vs. Sarangani

BINAN--Bicol came alive in the fourth quarter to complete a comeback and beat Sarangani, 86-72, for a crucial MPBL Lakan Season win at the Alonte Sports Arena on Tuesday night.

Anchored by a 9-0 run early in the period, the Volcanoes outscored the Marlins, 29-14, in the final frame for the breakaway.

Ronjay Buenafe fired 26 points, seven rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block for Bicol, which strengthened its hold of the eighth spot in the Southern Division after moving up to 14-13.

The team is one game ahead of Cebu and 1.5 games ahead of Binan City, which will play Pasig later Tuesday at home.

Alwyn Alday added 20 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal off the bench.

Pari Llagas put up 21 points, eight rebounds, and three assists for also-ran Sarangani, which fell to 1-26.
