MANILA – New year, new management, new signing.

Global Makati revealed their first foreign player for the upcoming Philippines Football League season, English-Ghanian striker John Cofie.

The club announced the signing of the player in their official Facebook and Instagram accounts on Friday.

Global said that Cofie is “an enormous talent that will bring much to the club.”

The 27-year old Cofie, who stands at six feet flat, was a product of youth academies of Premier League sides Burnley and Manchester United.

He played in Belgium on loan, Ireland, Norway, and the third, fifth, and sixth tier of the English league system. Combined, he scored 11 goals in 73 career club caps. He also represented the under-17 side of England three times.

This will be the striker’s first stint in Asia after ending his spell in 2018 in second-tier Australian club Hume City.
