PASAY—Joshua Pacio remains the One strawweight champion after defeating Alex Silva in the headliner of One: Fire and Fury at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday night.
In the second defense of his belt, Pacio survived the grit of Silva and took the split decision win in front of the sold-out crowd.
The first round saw both fighters sizing each other up, although Pacio landed some few good strikes while keeping in step with Silva's efforts to bring the game to the ground.
In Round 2, Silva finally got his ground game and even got a chance to do an arm triangle hold only that Pacio quickly got off it.
Pacio landed more significant strikes in the next two rounds before keeping Silva at bay in the final round.
