| Lito Adiwang performs a Kimura lock on Pongsiri Mitsatit. One Championship |
PASAY--Lito Adiwang scored a shock submission win over Thai veteran Pongsiri Mitsatit at One: Fire and Fury at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday night.
Adiwang, fresh from winning the One Warrior Series last year, pulled off the surprise against Mitsatit through a Kimura lock that forced the latter to tap out at the 3:02 mark of the very first round.
Adiwang actually had a chance to finish Mitsatit earlier in the fight as a huge punch knocked the latter down to the floor, and the former went on a ground-and-pound that the latter barely survived.
Meanwhile, Gina Iniong scored a unanimous decision in her return to MMA against Asha Roka.
Fresh from winning the Southeast Asian Games gold in kickboxing, Iniong showed that she can beat everyone on the ground as well as she performed a guillotine choke on Roka late into the second round of their fight. Roka was saved by the bell, but Iniong's brilliance all game long gave her the win.
In a muay thai action, Rodlek Jaotalaytong defeated Chris Shaw via unanimous decision.
