MANILA--Mighty Sports scored its second straight win in the Dubai International Basketball Championship after pipping Al Ittihad of Aleppo, 77-72, at the Shabab Al-Ahli Club early Saturday (Philippine Time).
The Philippine club clobbered the Syrian side in the second quarter, outscoring its opponent, 23-9, to overturn a 19-23 deficit after the first quarter to a 42-32 halftime lead. Mighty Sports held on despite a late run from Al Ittihad in the fourth quarter.
Andray Blatche led Mighty Sports with 28 points on 10-of-17 shooting, 11 rebounds, two assists, and one block.
Fellow former NBA veteran Renaldo Balkman added 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, one block, and two steals.
Aubrey Coleman fired 30 points, two rebounds, one assist, and two steals for Al Ittihad of Aleppo.
