PASAY--Pieter Buist scored the most shocking result of One: Fire and Fury after defeating Eduard Folayang in the co-main event of the said fight card at the Mall of Asia Arena on Friday night.

The six-foot-three Buist, who replaced Ahmed Mujtaba at the 11th hour, proved to be too much for the five-foot-seven Folayang as Buist's length helped him overcome the Filipino MMA superstar.

Buist rocked Folayang early on with a right kick to the head, which set the tone of how their striking would fare.

Folayang had a golden chance in the second round after bringing Buist down before going for a ground-and-pound.

Buist, however, countered and came close to a triangle hold on Folayang that the latter quickly got away.

In Round 3, Buist landed another high kick to Folayang's head that slowed the latter down.

One judge found Folayang's resilience prevailing over Buist's skills, but the other two judges had Buist over Folayang as the Dutch fighter took the split decision win.

Meanwhile, Danny Kingad returned to his winning ways after beating Xie Wei.

In his first match after pushing Demetrious Johnson to the limit in the One Flyweight Grand Prix Final, Kingad put up an impressive performance over Xie, who struggled in the ground game.
