STA. ROSA, Laguna--No Justin Brownlee, no problem this time.
Alab Pilipinas bucked the absence of its supposedly latest recruit for the second straight game as the team pummeled Saigon, , in their ABL game at the Sta. Rosa Multi-Purpose Sports Complex here on Sunday night.
Unlike their previous meeting two weeks ago where the Heat still tried to fight back from a huge deficit, Alab made sure that they will keep their lead until the end.
Alab set the pace in the first half, opening a 56-36 lead before halftime, and they kept Saigon at bay for most of the second half.
Sam Deguara led Alab, who moved up to 10-6, with 23 points, eight rebounds, and one assist. Nick King added 20 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.
Lo Domingo chipped in 18 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals, and two blocks, but he hurt his ankle with 2:22 left in the game.
Sam Thompson made 36 markers, 10 boards, and two steals for the cellar dwelling Heat, who fell to 3-11.
