MANILA--Despite a coaching change that saw Jayvee Gayoso leaving the broadcasting panel to lead Rizal, the team's woes continued in the MPBL Lakan Season.

The Crusaders crashed to the cellar of the North Division standings, only winning seven games out of 29.

That led to a major rebuild for the upcoming 2020-2021 season that basically saw them retooling from the ground up with Gayoso not renewed for the head coaching job.

However, the rebuild took a huge turn when they signed burly guard Eloy Poligrates.

When Poligrates was left unsigned by Marinerong Pilipino in the PBA D-League despite a league record tying 67-point performance in last year's Foundation Cup, Rizal took the chance and inked him to a one year deal.

After seeing the situation of the Crusaders, Poligrates, instead of despising it, even said that he is liking it, in a positive tone, of course.

"Mas gusto ko yung alanganin na team para, kumbaga, kung maaangat ko 'to, sama-sama kami lahat. Hindi naman tayo si Superman na kaya natin buhatin lahat, 'di ba?" he said in jest.

Together with Mark Benitez, who got a fresh two-year contract, Poligrates is set to become a main man in offense for Rizal.

"Sana maipakita ko sa kanila na nagkamali sila sa pinili nilang desisyon," he continued.
