PSC chairman Butch Ramirez extends his help to our national athletes through conducting guidance counselling sessions. |
MANILA--A guidance counselling activity is now being initiated by the PSC to the national athletes who have been greatly affected by the novel coronavirus disease pandemic.
"We have mobilized our sports psychology unit to actively check on our athletes and conduct guidance counselling (online or by phone for now) for our athletes who might need their support given the challenges which resulted from these developments," PSC chairman Butch Ramirez said on Wednesday.
While it may seem a costly move for the PSC as far as its budget for this year is concerned, Ramirez assured, "Implications on the budget will remain manageable."
While no Filipino athlete has been tested positive for COVID-19 as of posting, the long layoff in training has become a toll for our sports heroes in other aspects.
Add to that the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics to 2021, something that Ramirez supports.
"I have always expressed that I favor its postponement, given the way this crisis seem to be taking," he further stated.
For now, Ramirez looks to insure that all the Filipino will remain healthy physically, mentally, and emotionally in this pandemic.
"As I have mentioned before, safety and health of everyone is a top priority," he further said.
