MANILA--Many of us have played many basketball-themed video games.

Philippe Herrero is no exception to that.

He admitted that he once played other esports titles aside from NBA 2K.

But after finally getting to play NBA 2K, Herrero believes he finally found the game suitable for him.

"The best one right now or like 10 years is 2K, we stick with it," Herrero said on behalf of his fellow NBA 2K gamers in an online press conference on Wednesday.

What made Herrero love NBA 2K is the number of gameplays to choose from.

"You can be a manager or a coach in this game, kaya kami nag-stick sa game na ito," he further said.

He pertains to the Association mode where you can be a member of a team's front office and carve your way to an NBA dynasty.

Another option is a My Player mode where you can play as a virtual version of yourself vying to become an NBA superstar.

A latest addition to NBA 2K is a Pro-Am mode where you can join fellow NBA 2K My Player users to team up to success.

The Pro-Am mode will be the one that will be used for the FIBA Esports Open, which will commence this weekend.

Herrero, the winner of the NBA 2K18 Asia Challenge, is the captain of the Philippine team that will compete in a five-game series against Indonesia.

Joining him are fellow NBA 2K champs Aljon Cruzin, Rial Polog, Custer Galas, Rocky Brana, Clark Banzon, and David Timajo.
