MANILA--At least one sport will resume very soon despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

GAB chairman Baham Mitra revealed on Thursday that horse races will commence later this month.

"[Sa] July 19, umpisa na. Binigyan na ng clearance ng IATF," Mitra said during the Usapang Sports forum of the Tabloid Organization in Philippine Sports.

He even said that the operators of one racetrack insisted in pushing through with the races even if there will be no off track betting.

Mitra added that GAB submitted the protocols on how the races will take place during the pandemic, especially how the OTB stations will operate, to the IATF.
