No stopping PTT amid pandemic as online workshops set

Pinoy Tennis Trainers go online.

MANILA--Pinoy Tennis Trainers (PTT), a nationwide train-the-trainer program, has launched PTT Serve, an online workshop that ensures the continuity of the endeavor amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

An advocacy program of rising tennis prodigy Sebastien Lhuillier, Pinoy Tennis Trainers empowers Filipino tennis trainers with knowledge, skills and techniques to improve their tennis coaching skills and provide them with better earning opportunities.

With PTT Serve, the usual 2-day seminars have been converted into a 1-day online workshop composed of two-hour morning and afternoon sessions facilitated by coach Roland Kraut via online video calls. He is the first and only International Tennis Federation level 3 coach in the country.

“Pinoy Tennis Trainers has always been for the improvement of Filipino tennis trainers and with the need for social distancing, it has become a challenge for us to reach our stakeholders. This is why we moved our advocacy online, with the help of coach Roland Kraut,” said Lhuillier.

The workshop tackles ways on how trainers can adopt innovative approaches in coaching tennis. On-court skills training is replaced by demos that the trainers can follow in their own homes. Financial assistance is also provided to workshop participants through their Cebuana Lhuillier Micro Savings accounts.

To date, the program has conducted 17 sessions nationwide and produced 820 graduates. The next PTT Serve session is scheduled for July 31.
