MANILA--Now it can be told: the IATF moved to allow professional teams to practice again without any objection.

The Games and Amusement Board said on Friday night that the IATF was unanimous in approving the protocols drafted by the PBA, PFL, and Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas 3x3.

"After a brief deliberation, the members of the executive committee unanimously agreed to allow the resumption of professional football and basketball trainings in low risk areas. Thus, both Philippine Basketball Association and Philippine Football Federation's appeals to GAB and IATF were approved," GAB said in a statement.

As revealed by Chairman Baham Mitra to Dugout Philippines on Wednesday night, a joint administrative order was made by GAB, PSC, and DOH so that basketball and football clubs can resume their training although in a gradual manner.

The said JAO actually extends to all sports, opening an opportunity for the PSC to have a talk with POC regarding the resumption of training among those who are still in the running for a spot in the Tokyo Olympics next year.

But right now, Mitra is thankful that sports can now slowly come back during the trying times brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are thankful to all the members of the IATF for giving us the chance to present our case. This is a good development for the entire professional sports community. Pro sports events have been stalled for four months now and this kind of development is really something to look forward to," said Mitra in a separate statement.
