MANILA--EJ Obiena continues to build up on his Tokyo Olympic portfolio as he won another medal late Monday night.

The pole vaulter finished second in the "Who's the Finest Pole Vaulter?" online event held in various locations and was streamed online.

Obiena, currently based in Formia, Italy, cleared 5.6 meters, beating Matt Ludwig of the United States, who clinched the bronze with 5.35, and Pawel Wojciechowski of Poland, who finished fourth with 5.2.

Obiena bettered from his bronze medal finish in the IAAF World Diamond League Series in Monaco on Friday.

Obiena just missed out on matching eventual winner Thiago Braz's 5.7 meters as fatigue and wind conditions began to set in.

The Brazilian athlete, who actually trains alongside Obiena in Formia, tried to go for 5.8, but like Obiena, the weather in the said city also factored in his failed attempt.

The four pole vaulters who competed in the online event have all qualified for next year's Olympic Games.
