MANILA—South Korean team Promy claimed The Pacific NBA 2K20 championship after sweeping Playbook Laus Esports in the finals on Sunday night.

Behind the scoring prowess of Jecho, Promy showed that the so-called "Korean Curse" in Asian basketball can be spilled into the online realm by romping PLE, which is composed of the Philippine team in the FIBA Esports Open.

Jecho went 8-for-8 from long range as Promy took the opener of the best-of-five series, 59-50.

That turned out to be the closest win by the SoKor squad as it took the next two games in blowout fashion.

With an all-around game this time, Jecho led Promy to a 50-24 rout in Game 2 even as Kante provided a solid rim protection, while they connived anew in Game 3 en route to the 49-32 series clincher.

The tournament pitted eight of the top Asian NBA 2K20 teams for a bigger share of a US$10,000 (around PHP500,000) prize pool.
