MANILA--He may be the reigning URCC bantamweight champion, but Drex Zamboanga is fully aware that One Championship is a different game.

Zamboanga is set to make his debut at One on Friday night as he takes on Detchadin Sorsirisuphathin at One: A New Breed.

But right now, Zamboanga is working on his ground game to get the better of Sorsirisuphathin.

"Doon ako parang nag-focus. Mas inaral ko yung mga technique doon," Zamboanga said in an online press conference on Wednesday night.

He further explained that he really needs to improve on his grappling if he wants to become a legitimate contender at One.

"Tayong mga Pinoy, striker tayo. Di tayo papahuli doon. Pero pagdating kasi sa international, ibang level na. Andyan na yung mga black belter sa jiujitsu, mga world champion sa wrestling," Zamboanga further said.

Due to a different weight division ruling at One, Zamboanga will be fighting as a flyweight, although he said that the transition is smooth because he is staying at the 135-pound level, which is his natural weight.
