MANILA--Mark Nonoy just bid farewell to the University of Santo Tomas.
The UAAP Rookie of the Year last season confirmed on Monday that he will leave the Growling Tigers amid the drama brought about by their alleged training bubble in Capuy, Sorsogon.
"Napakabigat man para sa loob ko, kinakailangan ko ng katiyakan sa aking career para makapagfocus ulit sa basketball," Nonoy explained his decision via a lengthy Instagram post.
Nonoy and Deo Cuajao are reportedly set to transfer to La Salle, but Nonoy clarified, "Akin po munang kokonsultahin ang aking pamilya para sa mga susunod na hakbang na aming gagawin."
The La Carlota native then expressed his gratitude to embattled former UST coach Aldin Ayo, who brought him here from his hometown and guided him to who he has become on and off court.
He also thanked the UST community for the support he got last year.
Maraming salamat UST! The best ka!"
