Alaska escapes Terrafirma on solid 2nd half

MANILA--Alaska banked on a impressive showing in the second half before holding off Terrafirma, 99-96, in their PBA clash at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center on Tuesday night.

The Aces rallied after the Dyip took control for most of the first half, dropping 34 points in the third quarter and stifling them in the fourth.

Alaska, however, had to hold off Terrafirma in the end.

Down 95-96, the Aces scored the game's last four points while hold the Dyip scoreless for the last 2:37 of the game.

Eric Camson, however, had a chance to force overtime in the last play, although his three-pointer rimmed out as time expired.

Vic Manuel continues to be Alaska's main man off the bench, leading the team to its fourth win of the season with 18 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Robbie Herndon added 12 points, four rebounds, and one assist off the bench.

CJ Perez's 25-point performance and Juami Tiongson's own 21-point outburst were not enough as Terrafirma remains winless after five matches.
