Ginebra stays unscathed after W over gritty Blackwater

MANILA--Ginebra kept its poise in the endgame to turn back an upset minded Blackwater squad, 103-99, in their PBA match-up at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center on Thursday night.

After letting them explode in the third quarter, the Barangay contained the Elite early in the fourth quarter, eventually opening a 96-86 lead with 3:14 to play before keeping them at bay the rest of the way.

Prince Caperal led Ginebra, which moved up to 2-0 in the standings, with a career-high 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting including 5-of-7 from three-point range, six rebounds, and three assists.

Stanley Pringle added 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

Don Trollano put up 23 markers, 10 rebounds, and two assists for Blackwater, which slipped to 1-1.
