MANILA - ONIC PH locks their status as the third-seeded team in Group B as they sweep Cignal Ultra to end Day 2 of Week 8 of MPL-PH Season 6.
The two-time finalists managed to claim the first game in a dominant fashion in a 15-5 beating of their opponents, thanks to Wise's 9/0/2 output.
ONIC's Jay, Dlar, Iy4knu, and OhMyV33nus took care for the clash as Wise focused mainly on the turrets, objectives, and getting most of the kills.
Cignal Ultra's strategy of getting OhMyV33nus first was bluffed in every playthrough as Dlar and Jay blocked every attempt, prompting Wise's Roger free to farm and roam.
ONIC went to a more durable lineup with the double tank setup of Uranus and Baxia, while Cignal Ultra went for Barats and Karrie to neutralize the twin tank combo.
Wise's rotation and push proved wonders once again as all other four ONIC members take care of the team fights despite being outnumbered.
With all ONIC members limiting Cignal Ultra's options to farm up to the mid game, they pushed in the late game and eventually ends the match within 19 minutes, with Wise's 11/1/5 KDA leading his team.
ONIC PH has now secured a sure third place in Group B with 21 points and an 8-4 slate, while Cignal Ultra settled for fourth with a 3-9 slate and 12 points.
Cignal Ultra's final regular season game will be an inter-group matchup against fellow fourth seeds NXP Solid while ONIC will try to stop Aura's PH momentum in a rematch of the finals to close the regular season.
