MANILA - ONIC PH did not just dispatch a defending champion, they ended a playoff nightmare.
OhMyV33nus and the rest of the ONIC PH dismantles two-time defending champions Aura PH to start Day 2 of MPL-PH Season 6 quarterfinals on Friday.
The boys in yellow did not let a single game go down the wire as they finished their opponents in orange in a quite quick fashion, with the longest at Game 2 which is seconds shy of 15 minutes.
Dlar and Wise proved to be the thorns for Aura as they combined for nine kills and 15 assists for ONIC without registering a single death.
It was Jay however who carried the team to victory with his Jawhead's 3/2/6 performance while tanking the most damage dealt by Aura PH.
ONIC continued their momentum to Game 2 but with OhMyV33nus doing well for his side with his comfort pick Pharsa registering a 4/1/15 performance to grab the MVP honors.
The defensive presence of ONIC proved to be a key factor as they negated Greed's Natalia comfort pick and pluck six kills out of a total of 21, while not letting him score.
With the series in ONIC's favor, they did not back down and spend the next 13 minutes conquering Aura's side in Game 3, 13 kills to just six.
ONIC took most of the buffs and checked all objectives while not letting a single turret to be plucked, as well as negating Killuash and Rafflesia's influence on the map, both tallying a 0/2/4 KDA.
Jay again led his team to victory with his Hilda contributing to ten kills, while Dlar, Wise, and OhMyV33nus took care of the scoring load.
With the champions out of the playoff picture, ONIC will set sights of the winner between the Bren Esports-Nexplay Solid for a semifinal bout.
