MANILA--One interesting undercard in One: Reign of Dynasties is the clash between Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke and Hexigetu.
Dejdamrong, the former One strawweight champion, is looking to prove that he can still pull off a show at age 41.
Hexigetu, on the other hand, looks to continue his winning streak despite the layoff caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
An interesting spectator, however, is the current champ, Joshua Pacio.
Pacio admitted on Friday that he will watch their showdown next week.
"This is going to be a very explosive match-up, given the two styles. They are both very aggressive and like to lead the pace," Pacio said of the bout.
On what the outcome will look like, he said, “This is going to be a fun fight but I have Dejdamrong winning this one.”
On why he has Dejdamrong, who he actually beat in 2017, over Hexigetu, Pacio answered, “I don’t think age really matters that much as long as you still have that drive and desire to compete against the best.”
In fact, he hinted that he is open to fighting Dejdamrong once more for the belt if he beats Hexigetu.
"I believe he wants to make another run at the title, and I welcome him. I think if he wins this fight, and he turns in an impressive performance, he can easily climb up the rankings," Pacio said of Dejdamrong.
