MANILA--Rain Or Shine banked on its solid defense to pip Terrafirma, 91-82, in a Friday night PBA action at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.
The Elasto Painters kept the Dyip to just 34 points in the first half before holding them off the rest of the way after a solid third quarter start that even gave them the lead.
After stunning San Miguel with a dagger trey late into their contest on Tuesday night, Rey Nambatac put up a solid performance all game long for ROS, leading the team with 19 points, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Javee Mocon, Gabe Norwood, and Beau Belga each added 14 markers as their team is now 2-0 in the bubble season, joining Phoenix, Ginebra, and TNT in a four-way tie at the top of the standings.
The Tropang Giga are to play the Beermen later Friday for a chance to take solo first place.
Mocon completed a double-double after piling up 10 rebounds as well.
CJ Perez put up 26 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, five steals, and two blocks for Terrafirma, which slipped to 0-2.
