MANILA--No 40-point bombs from someone this time, but TNT still stomped its class.
The Tropang Giga rode on a hot start to trample the San Miguel Beermen, 107-88, in the PBA Friday nightcap at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultrual Center.
TNT began the game on a 13-2 run and eventually built a 19-point cushion, 57-38, at halftime.
SMB came alive at the start of the third quarter, opening the period with 12 unanswered points to cut the lead down to just seven, 57-50, with only 10 minutes left in the frame.
The Tropang Giga recovered and eventually pulled away for good late in the third after building a 19-4 run that opened their largest lead at 22.
Poy Erram posted his best game so far with TNT, scoring a career-high 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting including a perfect 9-for-9 from two-point range, 15 rebounds, and one block as he led his team to the top of the team standings with its third straight win in as many games in the season.
Ray-Ray Parks, who exploded for 40 points the last time out, added 22 points, six rebounds, and three steals.
Alex Cabagnot came up with 15 markers, two rebounds, two dimes, and one steal off the bench for SMB, which fell to 1-2.
